Top 10 Li-ion battery manufacturers in the world as per now

Two China-based firms, Contemporary Amperex Technology Limited (CATL) and BYD, are the world’s largest manufacturers of Li-Ion batteries behind the Tesla Gigafactory. CATL currently has an annual manufacturing capacity of 24 GWh, while BYD reported an output of 14 GWh in 2018.

 

According to the Germany-based business data provider Fygen, in 4th place is the Chinese company Optimum Nano, having approximately 12 GWh/a. The overall ranking of companies, including their annual battery manufacturing capacity, are shown on the graph above. The online database provided by Fygen covers all Li-ion battery manufacturers worldwide and is updated monthly.
