CATL and BYD are Asia’s largest Li-ion battery manufacturers

 

 

The two China-based manufacturers of Li-Ion batteries, Contemporary Amperex Technology Limited (CATL) and BYD, are the largest manufacturers in Asia. CATL currently has an annual manufacturing capacity of 17 GWh, while BYD has 16 GWh.

 

According to the Germany-based business data provider Fygen, the 3rd place is the Chinese company Optimum Nano, which has approximately 12 GWh/a. The overall top 5 ranking of companies, including their annual battery manufacturing capacity, is demonstrated on the graph above. The online database is being updated weekly.
